This will be followed by a real post. Feel free to pass this pass.

So, I'm pretty much giving up cosplay. Otakon kind of ruined it for me and I'm at a point in my life where I do not have the time and resources to devote to something that's not amazingly fun anymore. I don't really watch anime anymore either, I still enjoy sewing but seeing as I probably won't go to any cons for awhile I won't be making anything. I also want to more or less move out this summer so I won't have money for it anyway. It's not like I can't come back to it later.

Long story short, I have a lot of wigs. I don't know exactly how many but like more than 10 in various colors and lengths. Sooner or later I will list all of them and the flist will get first crack so if you or your friends what some cheap wigs this is will the place to look. Please tell your friends. Everything will be like 5-20. I also have a few plushies and random figures, mostly FMA. If you want these let me know, I will even give you some of the little figures.

So ponder wigs you might need now or in the future. I might have one that will work and I will sell it cheap so I don't have to worry about it anymore. I want someone else to enjoy them as much as I have.

I'm off to go do something unusual as per yesterday's fortune cookie's instructions. Only trouble is my entire life is unusual so it's taking some major brain busting to figure out what would qualify as unusual for me. :P I'm predictably unpredictable. Here's hoping this goes well.

I think I've decided on a tattoo. All I need is someone artistically inclined to draw a couple variations out for me.

Time to be reckless ^_~

Eventful times here in Nagoya. The beer pong tournament went fantastically. We had ten teams participate and the people who didn't play seemed to be having a good time at well. Overall it was well-organized and really social. Naturally the later games got less organized but pretty much everyone was drunk by then. Rob and I didn't do too well but we had a lot fun. We're thinking of holding this on a more monthly basis since it was really great even if I got a lot drunker than I meant too leading to some fun times under the mailboxes.

Saturday got to a slow start as a result, went shopping with Rob a bit but didn't find anything I liked. I'm kind of particular about my clothes and while I'm looking to make my style a little more interesting, I still favor more fitted cuts which is unfortunate because most of the stuff at Wego was the boxy cut that the Japanese seem to favor. I'll probably go back to Sakae later and hit up Zara, etc.

We went to happy hour at the hub with people which was lots of fun. The girls and I are thinking of hitting it up this upcoming friday as a "girl's only" event. There is still some conflict as to whether or not gay men will be allowed to attend since they still have a penis. After that I'm not really sure what's going on. I feel like I have something to do for IES during the day on saturday. Some welcome lunch or something like that. At any rate, free food is free food.

We went to ID afterwards which was a good time if kind of sketchy like always. I had a lot of fun dancing with Rob. I'd been wanting to go back with him for awhile since I thought it'd be more fun dancing with a boyfriend rather than random dude which it was. I really hope we can go out to more clubs together. Unfortunately the night ended with the group bringing home one of the new kids who had a little too much to drink. Then again, most of us have at least one puking in the subway incident. In my defense I made it to the station and was able to get home under my own power.

Today was pretty chill. Mostly hung around and did homework, laundry, and grocery shopping like every Sunday. We went out a big for Sami's birthday which as nice and chill. We left early to try and make the dorm meeting but we still were too late. *sigh* We tried. Now I'm pretty much just hanging out. I looked over the grammar for this chapter for a bit but I haven't worked up the motivation to start the grammar sheet for tuesday. I know I'll be kind of mad at myself tomorrow if I don't at least do a little of it.

So it's the night before class starts and I have very little to show for myself as usual. I did some half-hearted studying but for the most part I lazed about my room and then got my ass kicked by Biohazard. Fucking zombie monkeys, I will have my revenge.

I bought a badass new camera this weekend. It is small and sexy and takes pretty pictures. My old canon works great still but I wanted something more portable. So far I'm really happy with it and I appreciate that it's pretty much exactly the same as my old camera as far as the controls go. I get very set in my ways and don't like change.

I had a very low key Monday/Tuesday. I hung out in my room and chatted with people on AIM while browsing the interwebs. I really needed to take a little social break and just sort of exist for awhile. I got shitall done these past two days but sometimes you just have to sit by yourself and recharge. I had a couple things I needed to mentally put in order so it was good for that too. Not necessarily thinking but reshuffling. I'm pretty content with what I came up with over winter break so I don't think I'll be in for a major evaulation for a bit.

Surprises of all surprises I've been cooking the past two days. In light of Danielle being out of town I decided I was going to cook dinner for Rob. The first night was some sort of bastardized steak with mushroom wine sauce served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Tonight was butter garlic pork with mixed vegetables. I was going to have a salad but my fridge decided that lettuce was better frozen >< I'm being ghetto and eating the leftover cucumber as a snack by slicing it into pieces with a butter knife on my desk and dipping it in dressing. I was going to eat it later but I'm afraid my fridge will kill it. Don't want to waste it!

I think I might try to cook for Rob like once a week or so. God knows I need the practice.

*sigh* I'd best eat my cucumber and go to bed. Class tomorrow then dinner out. ^^ I am looking forward to it. I hope we have cool new kids. I like the ones that moved into the dorm so far.

Haha, we stopped at a random flea market on the way home and I acquired the Pocohontas DVD. I'm not particularly fond of this movie or anything but it was there and I wanted it, more disney movies to watch while I sew. My goal is to build up my disney dvd collection. I hear that Beauty and the Beast is coming out of the vault later this year which is pretty sweet, I've been dying to get my hands on it but I'm not paying $80 for it on ebay.

If my earlier post was any indication had a good run at Ohayocon this year. I have to say, I am really impressed with the organization at this convention. The judging and masq was really well run and I felt like the judges were some of the more experienced and fairest of any convention I've been to. My only real complaint is that you had no idea who else was in your division. I would have like to know who else was a journeyman. I didn't think our stuff was up to par but apparently the judges felt it was. I think what got us points was the attention to detail and general cleaness. Nothing to amazing prop or craftsmanship wise but we did our best to make sure it was all well put together.

The con itself was kind of lame, the cosplay wasn't very impressive and the dealer's room was pretty weak. Then again, I'm probably just spoiled from living in Japan. I did meet up with some cool people and get formally introduced to some others. I just wish I hadn't forgotten Katt's tail so I could have gotten some better pictures of her. Oh well. I can't wait for the pictures we took with Jen's camera to get uploaded.

Getting ready to go back to Japan, the suitcase is half-packed. I'll finish tomorrow when I can properly crash around my room. Everything might actually fit this time :P Hopefully Rob will get online soon or send me an email about catching him tomorrow. I want to realtime arrange my arrival in Nagoya so I'm not stranded at the airport or something like that. ^^ I can't wait to see my boy again.

Epic win!!!

Reporting in from Ohayocon, currently putting the finishing touches on Hotohori before our judging time. All I have left to do is put the shiny on the sash and I am golden. My main concern is the structural integrity of the headdress since it was made in kind of a rush and came out larger than I intended it too. Oh well, it just has to survive for today. If I wear this version of Hotohori again I might remake it but I'd have to be really motivated since I probably can't salvage the foam feathers.

So far Ohayocon is kind of eh. We got a sweet room after some bitching but last night was pretty slow. We did meet up with some people we know from various parts of the internet which was good but otherwise nothing noteworthy. I'm hoping there will be some awesome cosplayers today. Saturday is usually the day for it. I need to take awesome pictures for Rob but last night was just some general shots of the sad inhabitants of these conventions. I like coming and doing cosplay but I find myself generally uninterested in about 90% of the other attendees. I don't have much interest in the events anymore either, I haven't really grown out of anime but it interests me less than it did.

The dealers room is pretty lame. Nothing really amazing and considering I am living in the Japan at the moment I haven't seen anything that I couldn't acquire with relative ease back in Nagoya or for that matter anything that I particularly want period.

I suppose I should get back to work and make sure Hotohori's completely ready to go. We still have a little over 2 hours before we need to set out so we should be in good shape. I don't think we'll win anything but I can dream. It would be pretty badass to get anything, even if that means getting bumped to original design.

CY Forever
Why can I not fucking study when I have to? I have to give my speech in class tomorrow and I just can't bring myself to look at it and actually work on it. I've run through it a few times but I really need to do some hardcore memorization which is not happening right now and I've done nothing productive either.

I did cook dinner tonight and it was edible. My goal is to suck less at cooking by the time I come back to the US. I also bought a bento box and I'm going to start brining my lunch to school most days since it's a good way to get rid of leftovers. My box is microwavable too so I can pack it the night before and just nuke it when I go to brush my teeth, etc. Hooray for one more way to save some monies. I want to have a horde by the time I come back.

This weekend should be epic. Clubbing with the other dorm, musical, drinking and possibly Karaoke are lined up for Friday/Saturday with Sunday as the day of rest. Most of those activities which a bunch of people I don't really know, some of whom are Japanese. If that doesn't have the makings for epic I don't know what does. Last weekend was semi-epic so it's time to pick up the slack.

Argh, fucking speech. I have to get up early too since tomorrow is garbage day. I'm beginning to suspect that I have the worst day since there's always burnables by friday. Oh well, it's not out of my way or anything.

(Man, too much System of a Down on the playlist. Of course, I just added Cutie Honey so I'm not sure if I'm really helping it at this point either.)

And a generation that didn't agree

Irony is amazing. Soubi seems much happier now that I uninstalled Spyware Doctor. That seemed to be single handedly crashing my system for awhile there. The funny thing is that piece of shit, the desktop of ancient loves that program. Go figure. It's not completely at 100% since the Lucky Star opening makes my system curl up in a ball still but at least everything up until that point seems to be running smoothly. Flyleaf and System of a Down are pretty good gauges, when those start playing funny it's like an early warning system. Man, I want a less spastic laptop.

This weekend was pretty awesome if somewhat booze-laden. Friday was a drinking bonanaza with random people and Saturday was Osu, the Shabu-Shabu all you can eat/drink, then finishing at a neat little bar with live music. So broke >< That was all pretty awesome though, it seems like this Friday I've managed to get us an invite with another group to go to a club. Yay expanding social circle.

In between assignments right now since I can only take so much Japanese at once. I feel like I'm not learning much but at the same time, when I think about I'm absorbing several new grammar points a day. I'm not perfect with the new ones but they keep coming up so it's helping lodge them into my brain. 1 month is probably a bit early to see significant progress though I know my comprehension and random knowledge sectors are improving from watching a little TV every day.

Japanese dryers = the suck. I swear it's literally like a 3-4 hour cycle. The sad part is that many would consider it pretty badass that we even get dryers (free dryers mind you). I guess even retarded dryer is faster than outside clothes line.

Pfft, back to work. I need to get my listenig homework done and do some reading for Foriegn Policy. It would also be nice if I would get off my lazy ass and work on the bonus kanji homework. God knows I need the bonus points.

kyouya oh yeah
Everyday I stop and offer a prayer of thanks to the god of housing for putting me in Nagoya Koryu Kaikan. Hands down the best housing one can get here, the location and freedom are amazing. My room needs more stuff though, I have high hopes of acquiring a mini-shelf type unit.

I am a little vexed though, I need to go to the bank now since my cellphone bill came in and I don't have the money to pay it and get through the week including the planning all-you-can eat/drink shabu shabu bonanza slated for Saturday. I'll probably have to go back twice too so I can put in the money for next month. Boo. Well, I can hold onto my cash for a bit. This will be less annoying once I get my ATM card. I could theoretically just keep a big wad of cash in my drawer and just have my bank account for dorm matters but I prefer keeping large amounts in a secure institution. Plus that means I can set up automatic deductions for my cellphone.

Speaking of my phone, I got my first bill today. The only problem is that's it's all in Japanese so they could screw me 5 ways from Sunday and I probably wouldn't notice. It seems in order though since it's just the registration fee. I'm assuming the 143 yen difference is probably that pesky tax business.

Man, I need to get my computer cleaned off. This is what I get for going without an antivirus for a few weeks because I was lazy.
